Rowan Twigs IV

Da muss also was hin, vermutlich ein winziger 2-Maschen-I-Cord.

Heavens, this is becoming a Rowan-Twigs-Blog. Unfortunately my little math game of yesterday contained some unknowns, which I found only when knitting the thing:
  1. The pattern can't be turned upside down. Now this seems logical to me, only yesterday I had fun calculating without considering the consequences. This leaves me now with the choices of knitting a completely different pattern at the sleeves, do the whole thing in k6p2 without lace or knit the sleeves bottom-up.
  2. The yarn, Lenpur Linen, apparently isn't made for that kind of experiments. This stuff is quite wabbly, makes a clear strukture and at the same time, due to the missing twist, tends to draw strands. Altogether this makes a quite odd impression.
  3. I don't like the look of the three-needle-bind-off in this pattern, whereas the whole thing looks good from inside. One of the pictures shows, that the connection of knitted-in-sleeve and three-needle-bind-off makes a nice little hump at the shoulder. This doesn't work out.
  4. The neckline given in the pattern is absolutely fine with this pattern. Still, it looks odd without something around it, because the yarn is too flabby. So I'll have to do something there, probably a 2-stitch-I-cord.
So, where does that lead us? I won't reach objectives 1 and 2, since I'll have to knit the sleeves bottom-up - they look odd without any pattern - an get two seams together with quite some additional ends to darn in. Anyway, there is a more firm yarn in my stash, Katia Liana. The planning of this will contain my little math excercise right from the start.
