Aufräumen / Clearing up

Dieses Wochenende war dem Aufräumen gewidmet. Bedingt durch ein paar Veränderungen in der WG mussten wir einen Schrank temporär abbauen und in meinem Schlafzimmer verstauen. Bei der Gelegenheit habe ich entdeckt, dass ich Kleidermotten habe - nicht an Klamotten, die sind mehr so hermetisch abgeriegelt, sondern am Teppich an einer Ecke hinter einer Unterbettkommode, wo ich nur beim jährlichen Großreinemachen dran gehe. Bilder davon erspare ich Euch, das ist ein wunderschöner Teppich, der jetzt Löcher hat. Da steht jetzt zwar eine Mottenfalle, aber was zu spät ist, ist zu spät.

Ist meine Premiere mit Kleidermotten, ich hatte nur einmal diese Lebensmittelmotten, als ich 1992 eines Dienstags nach Feierabend reiten ging und vier Monate später nach einem Sturz vom Pferd nebst Wirbelbruch wieder heimkam. Da mussten zwischendurch meine Eltern einen Schrank voll Lebensmittelmotten ausräumen (ich habe damals noch alleine gewohnt).

Ich hab auch noch in anderer Hinsicht aufgeräumt, ähm. Denn mir gefällt das Revontuli-Tuch sehr, wenn es irgendwo rumliegt, aber ich wusste nicht (und weiß immer noch nicht), ob es mir auch an mir gefällt. Und da ich grade meine Sockenwolle gesichtet und zwei Knäule Harry Potter "Harry und Ron" gefunden habe, von denen ich keine Ahnung habe, wie sie in meinen Vorrat geraten sind, dachte ich, okay, man nennt sowas Stashabbau, probierst es halt. Also habe ich von gestern auf heute ein Revontuli-Tuch gestrickt. Manchmal habe ich einen Knall, aber jetzt habe ich 200g Sockenwolle aufgeräumt und ich kann morgen sagen, ob ich so ein Teil aus der Noro-Wolle stricke oder weiter nach einem dafür geeigneten Muster suche.

Mir gefällt die Musterung, sieht aus wie ein wilder Garten, finde ich. Oder halt wie ein rustikales Tuch, das man mal sommers abends trägt, wenns etwas frischer wird. Und vielleicht kommt mich eine meiner vielen Nichten mal besuchen und verliebt sich in das Tuch, dann bin ich es eh los - sowas kommt immer wieder vor, finde ich auch in Ordnung.

Achso, und wenn ich sage "aufgeräumt", meine ich aufgeräumt. Bis auf 1,02 m habe ich die komplette Wolle verbraucht ...

This weekend was dedicated to clearing up. There are some changes in our flat-sharing and therefore we had to temporarily dismantle a cupboard and stuff it into my bedroom. On this occasion I found out that I'm having carpet-moths - not in the clothes, since they are sort of hermetically sealed, but in the edge of a beautiful carpet, where I vacuum clean only twice a year when moving the sofa and all. I'll save you the pictures, there's a really ugly hole and I put a moth trap now, but too late is too late.

It is my first experience with carpet-moths, I once had meal moths, when in 1992 on a thursday I went riding after work and returned four months later after having dropped of the horse and broke one of my vertebras. While I was in hospital, my parents had to get rid of the moths in my pantry (I used to live alone then).

And I cleared up in another meaning this weekend. Well, I like the Revontuli, when lying around, but I didn't know (and don't know yet), whether I like wearing it. And I had looked into my sockyarn and found two skeins of Harry Potter "Harry and Ron", whichof I have not the slightest idea how they got into my stash. So I thought, call it stash busting and try it. And I knitted Revontuli from yesterday till today. Sometimes I'm that crazy, but still, the 200g of sock yarn is cleared away and tomorrow I will know whether I'm knitting a Revontuli out of my Noro or whether I'll have to go on looking for an appropriate pattern.

I like the pattern of the sockyarn, it looks like a wild garden to me. Or like a very rustic shawl you wear on cooler summer evenings. And maybe one of my many nieces will visit me and fall for the shawl, then I'm rid of it anyway - this happens quite often, which is perfectly fine for me.

And if I say "cleared up", I mean it: There is exactly 1.02 meter left.
