Das übernächste? / The next but one?

Okay, ich habe ja geschrieben, ich möchte gerne wissen, ob ich Perlen verstricken kann. Hintergrund: Solche Fisselarbeit ist mir meist zu mühselig. Für diesen Versuch habe ich mir das Holzperlentuch ausgesucht und mit Sockenwolle von Schoppel begonnen. Okay, begonnen ist relativ. Denn um das mit den Perlen ausprobieren zu können, musste ich 2/3 des Tuches erstmal ohne stricken. Ähm, hab ich gemacht. Und dann habe ich festgestellt, dass eigentlich nicht mehr so viel zu tun ist.

Ende vom Lied: Spannen und ein paar Fäden vernähen und fertig. Ich weiß jetzt, dass Perlen Stricken nicht meine Lieblingsbeschäftigung wird, sich aber die Mühe lohnt, weil mir das Ergebnis gefällt und nicht süßlich-niedlich daherkommt.

Es lebe der Heuschnupfen, der mich daran hindert allzuviel rauszugehen. Fotos gibts, wenn das Ding in Schönheit erblüht (also gespannt) ist.

Well, I wrote that I would like to know whether I was able to knit with beads. As background: usually that kind of fiddle faddle is too tedious for my taste. So for my attempt I chose a pattern and started off with Schoppel Sockenwolle. Well, to say started means that you have to knit two thirds of the shawl in order to be able to try out beaded knitting. Which in fact I did. And then I found out that there is not much left to do.

End of story: What's missing is blocking and darning in the ends. I know now that knitting with beads won't become my favourite occupation, but it's worth the effort, because I like the result, it doesn't look sweetish-dinky.
