Mal wieder ein bisschen Fertiges / Some finished Objects at last

Nun also mal wieder fertige Werke meines Schaffens:

It is long time since my last blogpost. A lot happened in the meantime, things, which I don't want to put in here. After all this is a public space, and this stuff doesn't belong here. It was nothing personal, but a professional drawback. Compared to other things that might happen to people it's not all that bad. But id gave me, out of which reasons ever, the task of asking myself some really important questions. Not easy, I tell you.

But now this is more or less over, my topics changed and I stopped blogging for a time, but not knitting. Apparently knitting shawls makes me calm and steady.

So, there are now some finished objects:

1. Beginner's Triangle:

The yarn - Centolavaggi of Filatura di Crosa - is a wonderfully smooth Merino yarn and the colour is simply gorgeous. I almost hadn't bought the stuff, since somebody trading the yarn in Germany advertises the yarn in Ravelry in a very clumsy way, which I can't stand. But that's not the yarn's fault, so I bought it anyway.
Winding the whool was punishment, but worthwhile the effort, the thing turned out beautifully, which is as always not too visible on my photo.

Garn: 200 Gramm Centolavaggi, doppelt verstrickt mit Nadeln Nr. 3.5 mm
Bauzeit: 24. Juni bis 10. August 2009

2. Laminaria:

Apart from planning to knit a shawl for all my female relatives this year, I needed Laminaria to compensate the gazilions of repeats of the Beginner's Triangle. Laminaria is anyway a lot of fun, still you have to knit extremely loosely, otherwise you earn kracked needles and knots in the fingers from all the 9-out of 3-repeats. First I was afraid, I might not understand the pattern (this after all being my first experience with Estonian Lace), then I was afraid this shawl would develop some kind of peplum, since the two edging somethings really became very wide. Oh, and I was afraid that the whole thing would turn out to small and the peplums would be to far up. It all turned out well after blocking.

The yarn, Ranco of Araucania, is knitted beautifully even though I don't like sockyarn too much. For this it was just perfect.

Since being invited to a golden wedding and wanted an appropriate gift, I needed a fairly quick and easy shawl. Apart from that I had bought yarn at the Hamburger Wollfabrik and wanted to try this.

The thing was fastly done, I like the pattern a lot, the yarn is not too spectacular, it's a little stiff. At present I'm also knitting with Jamieson and Smith whool and with this the yarn of HWF cannot by far be compared. For this purpose it was okay, I wouldn't like to have it for more delicate things.
