Mein Quilt ist wieder daheim | My patchwork quilt is back home at last

Heute habe ich meinen Quilt abgeholt und bin überglücklich, dass er wieder da ist. Was habe ich das Ding gesucht! Ich habe alle möglichen Leute gefragt, meinen gesamten Haushalt mehrfach auf den Kopf gestellt und irgendwann traurig konstatiert, er ist weg. Er ist mir vor zwei oder drei Jahren abhanden gekommen und immer im Winter habe ich richtig um das Ding getrauert. Nicht nur, dass er wunderschön ist, er hat mich auch vier Jahre harte Arbeit gekostet.

Nunja, vor kurzem hat sich der Verbleib aufgeklärt: Ich hatte ihn für eine Quiltausstellung an eine Stoffhändlerin als Ausstellungsstück ausgeliehen. Kurz darauf ist meine Mutter gestorben und irgendwie hat danach ziemlich viel an Bedeutung verloren. Nachdem ich mein Trauerjahr hinter mir hatte (ich hätte das Ding soooo gut brauchen können), habe ich wie eine Wilde gesucht und vergessen, dass er bei der Händlerin ist. Die hat mich jetzt ausfindig gemacht und ich konnte ihn heute wieder in Empfang nehmen.

Ich werde feierlich ein Foto hier einstellen, sobald er trocken ist (er hat heute gebadet).

Today I got my quilt back. I'm so happy that it's back home. You can't believe the lengths to which I went searching for it. I asked several people, turned my flat upside down several times and in the end hat to accept it was gone. I lost it about two or three years ago and every winter I mourned because of this loss. It is not only beautiful, it cost me four years of hard labour to make it.

Well, recently everything resolved: I lent it to a cloth dealer who wanted it for an exhibition. Shortly afterwards my mother died and somehow a lot of things lost importance. After my year of mourning (where I would have cherished it a lot) I started looking for the thing like mad and forgot the cloth dealer and exhibition thing. She now found me and so I was able to pick it up today.

I will solemnly post a picture of it as soon as it is dry (it took a bath today).
