Irgendwie ist meine Zeit hier an der Nordsee ein wetterliches auf und ab. Ich genieße das sehr, vor allem den Sturm in den letzten Tagen. Da wurde ich mehrfach fast von der Straße oder vom Deich geweht.

Ich laufe ja täglich mindestens 10.000 Schritte, das ist neben Büchern und Strickzeug meine Hauptbeschäftigung. Und da gabs doch heftig was zu sehen mit dem Sturm. Leider bin ich ja nun nicht die große Fotografin vor dem Herrn, aber ich glaube, auf dem Foto kann man schon sehen, dass die Wellen nicht aufs Land zu brechen, sondern im 90°-Winkel. Völlig abgefahren. Mir gefällt auch der zerzauste Apfelbaum. Auf dem sind inzwischen kaum mehr Äpfel.

Somehow my time here at the North Sea seems to be going up and down in terms of the weather. I cherish that a lot, especially the storms we had these days. Several times I was almost blown from the streets or the dyke.

Every day I'm walking at least 10.000 steps. That is apart from reading and knitting my main occupation. And you could see a lot in that storm. Unfortunately I'm not the best of photographers, still I think you can see that the waves are not breaking towards the lands, but perpendicular to it. Weird that! I also like this ruffled appletree. It has hardly any apple left now.

Nunja und nach Hermia brauchte ich ein neues Projekt. Ich habe mir Cape Cod gegeben. Ich stricke ihn mit Centolavaggi dreifach. Das fühlt sich unglaublich klasse an und ist fest genug für einen Pulli, aber doch auch ein bisschen nachgiebig, nicht so brettig wie Inishmore mit der Superwash in 5.00. Dieser Pulli wird ein Lieblingspulli.

Und er hilft mir sehr, denn jeden Morgen spricht Häger, mein Schweinehund: Ach nö, lieber gleich stricken und nicht rausgehen. Und dann sagt Elisa, die Elfe, hey, geh einfach los, je schneller du gehst, je schneller kannst Dich wieder an dieses wunderbare Garn setzen. Das hilft wirklich, einerseits bin ich gestern 15.000 Schritte gelaufen, andererseits ist Cape Cod fast beim Armspickel angelangt. Nennt man glaube ich eine Win-Win-Situation.

Well, and after Hermia I needed a new Project. I decided on Cape Cod, knitted in Centolavaggi with three strands. It feels great and is firm enough for a sweater and at the same time a little yielding, not so tight as the Inishmore with Superwash yarn in 5.00 mm. This sweater will be one of my favourites, I'm sure.

And it helps me a lot: For every morning Hägar, the lazy dog inside of me says, no, don't walk, just go knitting right away. Then Elisa, the elf says, hey, just go walking, the faster you go, the faster you get back knitting this beautiful yarn. This really helps, on the one hand I walked 15.000 steps yesterday, on the other hand Cape Cod almost reached the arm gusset. You call that a win-win-situation, don't you?
