Schnupfennase / Runny Nose

Ist es die Möglichkeit? Ich hab ja nicht nur ein Projekt ins Rennen geschickt, sondern habe noch ein zweites, nämlich Inishmore, aus der Riege der ex-unfertigen Objekte in die Riege der noch-nicht-angefangenen Projekte versetzt. Deshalb habe ich Sonntag noch meinen Wollwickler angeschmissen und die Knäule gewickelt. Außerdem hatte ich noch ein paar wunderbare Stränge hier, so sinds dann ungefähr 15 Knäule und jede Menge Flusen gewesen, die hier rumgeflogen sind.

Und jetzt habe ich eine allergische Triefnase und fühle mich mal wieder, als hätte jemand meinen Kopf in rosa Watte gepackt und mit einem dicken, fetten Brett dagegen geschlagen. War ja am Samstag kurz auch schön draußen in der Sonne gestanden, da könnte das auch der erste Vorbote der jetzt zu fliegen beginnenden Pollen sein. Ist aber unwahrscheinlich. Mist aber auch!

Can you believe it? I didn't just have one project for the ravelympics, but threw my second, Inishmore, out of the row of unfinished objects back into the not-yet-started status. Therefore I turned on my whool-winder and got the skeins back into a presentable state. Furthermore I had some more skeins to be wound, altogether these were about 15 balls and lots of fluff hanging around here.

Now I've got an allergic running nose and feel as if somebody had wrapped my head into pink cotton wool and threw a big old board against it. I was outside in the sun briefly on saturday and might have caught the first inklings of pollen. However, this is improbable. Darn!

Dafür sind wieder ein paar wunderbare Bücher bei mir eingezogen:

• Margaret Radcliffe, The Knitting Answer Book: Ein kleines Ding, das alles beantwortet, was man beim Stricken fragen könnte.
• Margaret Radcliffe, The Essential Guide to Color Knitting Technique: Reich bebildertes Teil, das einem alles übers Farbenstricken erklärt. Schöne Muster, feine Anregungen, so fein was zum Schmökern
• Lynne Bar, Reversible Knitting: War ein Tipp von rosengarten77 aus dem Strickcafé, wunderschönes Buch, da habe ich fein ein paar Anregungen
• Sheila McGregor, Traditional Fair Isle Knitting: Großartig! Ein Buch voller Fair Isle Muster. Am liebsten würde ich die nächste Jacke anschlagen, aber nix gibts, jetzt wird erstmal das fertiggestellt, was noch in Arbeit ist.
• Simply Shetland 4 at Tomales Bay: Ich hatte bei den Ravelympics einen Pulli daraus gesehen (soweit ich das sehen konnte, war das die einzige, die auch einen Fair Isle gestrickt hat, im Gegensatz zu mir allerdings mit Ärmeln) und das Ding sofort bestellt. Wunderbare Anleitungen, Tücher, Pullis und Jacken. Natürlich sind auch Scheußlichkeiten dabei, aber ich brauch mir ja nicht einen Pulli übersät mit Knopflöchern stricken, richtig?!?

Ein weiteres habe ich geschenkt bekommen: Katherine Misgades "The Tongue River from Sock Collection". Sehr schöne zweifarbige Socken mit interessanter Ferse. Da wird der Spickel am Knöchel gestrickt und die Ferse ist dann eigentlich ganz einfach. Muss ich probieren, unbedingt!

Und was stricke ich jetzt? Wenn Dakota fertig ist (hoffentlich am Wochenende, ich habe mal wieder 10 Stunden Zugfahrt vor mir), kriegt die Kaunijacke zurechnungsfähige Bündchen und Knopfleiste, dann, sollte es noch kalt sein, kriegt der Practise Fair Isle seine Ärmel.

Danach das Projekt hängt vom Wetter ab. Wenn der Frühling mit Macht reinbricht, habe ich mir einen Pulli aus Baumwollgarn überlegt, selbigen in Nadelstärke - na? welche? - 5 (whoohoo!).

However, some wonderful books moved in:

• Margaret Radcliffe, The Knitting Answer Book: A small think answering everything you might at all ask in knitting.
  
• Margaret Radcliffe, The Essential Guide to Color Knitting Technique: richly illustrated book explaining everything on colour knitting. Beautiful patterns, nice ideas, something to just browse in.
• Lynne Bar, Reversible Knitting: This was a hint of rosengarten77 of the Strickcafé, again great ideas in a wonderful book.
  
• Sheila McGregor, Traditional Fair Isle Knitting: That is great! A book full of fair isle patterns. I would really love to cast on the next cardigan. But no, I won't, I'll firstly finish everything I'm doing at present.
  
• Simply Shetland 4 at Tomales Bay: At the Finish Line of Sweaterboard Cross at the Ravelympics I saw a picture of one of the sweaters out of that book (as far as I could see, this was the only other fair isle sweater having been done at the ravelympics and opposed to mine this indeed had sleeves) and immediately ordered the book. Wonderful patterns, shawls, sweaters, cardigans. Of course there are ugly things in there, but there is no need for me to knit a jumper strewn with button-holes, right?!?
  

I received another one: Katherine Misgades "The Tongue River from Sock Collection". Two-coloured socks with interesting heel. The gusset is being knit at the ankle and the heel after this is quite simple. I must try that!

And what will I be knitting now? As soon as Dakota is done (hopefully on the weekend, I'm planning again 10 hours in trains) the Kauni Cardigan will receive certifiably sane ribbing and button-bands and after that, if it is still cold enough, Practise Fair Isle will receive some sleeves at last.

The then next project depends of the wheather. If spring starts fastly, it will be a sweater in cotton, with the needle-size ... guess ... yesss, 8 (whoohoo!)
