Unfertiges im Juni / Work in Progress, June

Heute habe ich mal alle unfertigen Sachen zusammen auf ein Foto gepackt, weils sonst ein bisschen viel würde. Ist alles ein bisschen schlecht zu sehen, aber mit der Zeit werden die Sachen dann schon in ihrer Pracht und Schönheit zu sehen sein, wenn sie fertig sind.

Nach Rowan Twigs (Fertiges dann im nächsten Post) gibt es noch fünf Projekte in Arbeit, zwei davon können recht kurzfristig abgeschlossen werden - müssen, weil ich schon wieder zwei wundervolle Garnsets für Pullover habe und natürlich noch jede Menge Tücher stricken möchte:

1. Gansey Socken: Inspiriert durch "Socken aus aller Welt" habe ich mich selbst an Gansey-Socken versucht. Die sind nun hier am wenigsten gut zu sehen, deshalb gibts diese nochmals extra. Garn ist Regia Silk und ich habe sie so gestrickt, dass bei den Füßen glatt rechts innen ist. Deshalb arbeite ich grade umgekehrt, ich habe vor der Ferse das Gestrick einfach gewendet. Eins der zwei Unterwegsstrickzeuge und grade habe ich mehr Lust auf Thermal, deshalb hat das ein bisschen gedauert.

2. Famos aus "Ajour, Lace oder einfach nur Löcher": Das ist ein quer gestricktes Tuch, das hoffentlich Heidetuch-Ausmaße bekommt (ich bin sehr hoffnungsfroh, dass das hinhaut). Garn ist Noro Silk Garden Sock und strickt sich mittelbescheiden, weil sehr unnachgiebig und überhaupt nicht weich.

3. Aus Secondo stricke ich einen Kurzarmpullover aus einem Sandra-Heft. Dieses Garn ist rutschig wie die Sünde. Ich habe es jetzt mehrmals mit unterschiedlichen Nadeln versucht, aber das Zeug lässt sich nur vernünftig stricken, wenn man es zusätzlich einmal um den kleinen Finger wickelt. Es ist wunderschön, aber anstrengend.

4. Thermal ist aus Knitty und darüber habe ich ja schon berichtet. Mein zweites Unterwegsstrickzeug, deshalb geht das nicht so schnell.

5. Stola aus "Victorian Lace Today". Weil ich einen Zauberball stricke, muss ich die Ränder direkt mit anstricken. Ich finde das auch hübscher so. Das Ganze wird nicht für mich (ich und rot ist einfach keine gute Kombination). Stola stricken ist anstrengender als Dreieckstücher, weil die Reihen direkt von Anfang an lang sind und damit der Fortschritt nur so mittelübersichtlich sichtbar ist.

Das werden zwei aus Fishermen's Sweaters von Alice Starmore:

Einmal Kinsale aus einer wunderbaren Bambuswolle von Rowan. Eigentlich wollte ich dieses Zeug nicht verstricken, weil das so tierisch chemisch ist und ähnlich Fäden zieht wie Rowan Lenpur Linen, aber es hatte eine derart traumhafte Farbe, dass ich nicht nein sagen konnte.

Dann gibts Cape Cod aus einem Regia Stretch Garn. Es ist in der Maschenprobe exakt so viel größer als die Vorlage, dass ich das Ding genau nach Modell stricken kann. Allerdings werde ich unten das Bündchen schmaler machen, weil in den Modellen, die ich schon gesehen habe, das Ganze etwas nach außen geht und das gefällt mir nicht. Das Garn war nur noch in einem Himmelblau erhältlich, das mir nicht sonderlich gefällt, das werde ich nach Fertigstellung überfärben, aber das wird eh erst in Richtung Weihnachten sein (Nadelstärke 3 nach Thermal wird ziemlich heftig). Ich freue mich trotzdem drauf und werde mich natürlich sehr anstrengen, bald so viele meiner Arbeiten fertig zu haben, dass ich beide anschlagen kann.

Today I put all unfinished objects in one picture, since it would be too many otherwise. It's all not too well visible, but coming time they will bloom in beauty, when finished.

After Rowan Twigs (Finished object in the next post) there are five projects in progress. Two of them might be finished quite fast. They will have to be, since there are two wonderful yarnsets for sweaters waiting and I'm intending to knit quite some more lace shawls.

1. Gansey Socks: Inspired by "Socken aus aller Welt" I tried to design some Gansey patterns in that. They are worst to be seen, so I posted the picture of them again separately. Yarn is Regia Silk and I'm knitting the foot on the wrong side, since this is more comfortable. Therefore I'm presently working the second sock inside out at present. Its one of two projects I knit when on the way and I like the other one better at the moment, therefore they took quite some time.

2. Famos from a German Lace Book: This is a crosswise knitted triangle, which will hopefully have the measurements of Faroese Shawls (it seems quite promising to achieve that). Yarn is Noro Silk Garden Sock and it is quite awfully to knit, because it is unyielding and not smooth at all.

3. From Lana Grossa Secondo I'm knitting a short-sleeved sweater out of a German magazine. This yarn ist awfully slippery. I tried different needles, but this stuff can be knitted properly only with an additional wrap round the small finger. It is wonderful and smooth, but hard work.

4. Thermal is out of Knitty and I reported about that already. My second knitting project for travelling, so it will take its time.

5. Shawl from "Victorian Lace Today". Since I'm knitting a Schoppel Zauberball, I have to knit the edging together with the center pattern. I like it better that way anyway. This thing is not for myself (me and red is a bad combination). Stole knitting is more exhausting than triangles, since the rows are quite long right from the start so it's hard to see progress.

Projects coming up:

Those will be two out of Fishermen's Seweaters from Alice Starmore:

Kinsale out of a beautifully soft bamboo yarn of Rowan: I didn't intend to knit this, since it is very artificial and similarly badly twisted as Rowan Lenpur Linen, but the colour is that gorgeous that I couldn't say no.

Then there will be Cape Cod out of Regia Stretch. My gauge fits to the original in that way, that it is bigger in the proportion I need the sweater to be bigger. Still I will make the ribbing smaller, since it tends to be to big in the sweaters I already saw. I don't like that, so mine will be smaller. The yarn was available only in a sort of watery blue which I didn't like very much. Therefore I will dye it after having finished the sweater. This might be around Christmas (Needle Size 3mm and Thermal beforehand might stretch the time a bit). Anyway I'm looking forward to it and will mak some effort to have finished a lot of my present WIPs in order to be able to start the two new ones.
