Decke fertig | Blanket done

Die Decke ist fertig. Ich mag sie sehr, sie wird mir den Winter schön erwärmen und bringt etwas Farbe ins Zimmer. Die Besonderheit der Decke liegt darin, dass sie eine Tasche mit angehäkelt hat. In diese Tasche kann die ganze Decke gesteckt werden, wodurch das Ganze zu einem feinen Kissen wird, oder wenn das nicht notwendig ist, dient die Tasche als Fußtasche.

My blanket is done. I like it a lot, it will keep me warm in Winter and brings a bit of colour into my living-room. The speciality of the blanket is the pocket, which is attached to the blanket. The entire blanket can be tucked into the pocket, so it will be a sort of cushion. If that is not needed, the pocket makes an excellent pocket for warming the feet.


Die Häkeltechnik für die Patches ist sehr einfach:

51 Luftmaschen häkeln (die Zahl muss immer ungrade sein), wenden.

Reihe 1: fM in die dritte Luftmasche, (1 Lftm, 1 fM in die übernächste Luftmasche) wiederholen bis zum Ende, 2 Lftm, wenden.

Reihe 2: (1 fM in die erste Lücke zwischen zwei fM, 1 Lftm) wiederholen bis zum Ende, 2 Lftm, wenden.

Reihe 2 wiederholen, bis das Ganze ein Quadrat ist (bei mir waren es 45 Reihen)


The pattern for the patches is quite simple:

chain 51 (pattern needs an uneven number of chains),turn

Row 1: sc in the third chain, (chain 1, leave out one chain, sc in the next chain) repeat until end, chain 2, turn.

Row 2: (sc in the space between two sc, chain 1) repeat until end, chain 2, turn.

Repeat row 2 until the patch is a square (about 45 rows)


Von diesen Patches habe ich 52 Stück gehäkelt. Für die Decke selbst habe ich nur 48 gebraucht, aber ich wollte ja die Tasche dazu haben. Dann habe ich alle Patches im Muster schwarz umhäkelt  und dabei darauf geachtet, dass ich längs und quer dieselbe Zahl an Maschen hatte. Diese schwarzen Ränder habe ich dann mit Kettmaschen zusammengehäkelt, erst die 6-er Reihen erstellt, dann die Bahnen zusammengehäkelt. Danach habe ich die Tasche genauso behandelt und die Tasche aufgenäht (da wären die Kettmaschen zu dick geworden). Ganz am Ende dann habe ich bis zum Ende des schwarzen Garns den Rand umhäkelt und fertig.

I crocheted 52 patches. The blanket needed 48 patches, the last four were for the pocket. Then I crocheted one black row around all the patches in pattern using the exact same number of stitches for all the sides. I knitted these black edgings together in slip stitch. First I did the rows of six patches, then I attached those to each other. Afer that I did the same with the pockie and sowed this onto the back of the blanket (slip stitch would have been too bulky there). Finally I did the edging of the blanket in black and pattern until I ran out of yarn and done.

Achtung! Das Muster zieht sich praktisch nicht in die Breite, sondern ausschließlich in die Länge. Deshalb habe ich immer abwechselnd die Patches längs und quer gelegt. Das gibt noch ein bisschen Design-Element, aber vor allem zieht sich die Decke gleichmäßig nach allen Richtungen.

Attention! The pattern is much more flexible in length than in width. Therefore I was very attentive to put the patches together alternating lengthwise and laterally. This gives a bit of design, but most importantly the blanket is drawn equally to all sides.

Die Enden habe ich jeweils in den Rändern eingewebt, so hatte ich nur wenige Fäden zu vernähen.

I hid the ends in the edgings, so in the end there were not very many left to darn in.


Technische Details:

Verbrauch: 2,6 Kilo Socken- und Superwash-Merinogarn, jeweils mit doppeltem Faden, daher 10 km Verbrauch in der Länge.

Nadelstärke 4.5, damit wirds schön fest.

Größe: ca. 135x180cm: Die Länge finde ich etwas kurz, aber durch die Füßetasche gehts dann wieder.

Technical Details:

Used: 2.6 kg sock yarn and merino superwash, each with two strands, therefore I used up 10km of yarn.

Needle size 4.5mm, which gives a quite dense fabric

Size: about 135x180cm or 54x72''. First I thought it was a bit short, but due to the pocket it's fine.
