Mal wieder Fertiges / Some finished things

Endlich gibt es mal wieder etwas Fertiges zu zeigen. Leider habe ich von dem Leinentop (es heißt Afrodite und ist ein Entwurf von Karen Noe mit ein paar Änderungen von mir) nur ein nicht so schönes Bild, aber es zeigt wenigstens, wie das Ding fertig aussieht. Die Ärmel - ah, diese Ärmel - waren wie immer eine Herausforderung, aber irgendwie hat das doch noch hingehauen.

Im vorigen Post war das Ganze noch sehr zusammengezogen und die Ärmel sahen aus, als wären es Puffärmel. Mit diesem wunderbaren Leinen (auch Karen Noe) braucht man eigentlich nur das Ganze in Form legen und trocknen lassen und schon ist es schön grade, wie ich es mag.

Some finished things at last. Unfortunately the linen top (it's called Afrodite and was designed by Karen Noe with some alterations by myself) goes with a not so pretty picture. Still it shows the thing done. The sleeves - oh, those sleeves - were a challenge as always, but in the end it sort of worked out.

In my previous post the thing looked a bit drawn together and the sleeves seemed to be puffed sleeves. With this wonderful linen yarn (also Karen Noe) you only have to dry the top flat and shape it the way you want it. And in the end it is just like I like it.

Das zweite Teil, man siehts vermutlich, ist Undine, gestrickt aus einem Knäuel Wollmeise Versuchskaninchen. Das Teil hat 160 Gramm und drei Gramm sind übrig. Da war Frau Wollmeise sehr großzügig und so ist das Tuch dann auch geworden.

Auf den Bildern schlecht zu erkennen sind die kleinen Fleckchen rot und grün bis gelb, die dem Ganze ein bisschen eine zusätzliche verspielte Note geben. Ich habe Undine letzte Woche gestrickt für den Jungesellinnenabschied einer Freundin. Ihr hat es sehr gut gefallen - Gottseidank! Ähm, und ganz vielen anderen Leuten auch. Jetzt habe ich die interessante Herausforderung zu bewältigen, dass die alle auch solche Tücher wollen.

Das ist ein Denkspiel, oder? Für andere stricke ich eigentlich nur, wenn ich jemandem ein besonderes Geschenk machen möchte oder an dem Entwurf selbst Interesse habe. Verkaufen möchte ich das nicht, denn egal wie, das, was an Wert drinsteckt, kann eh niemand zahlen. Deshalb lasse ich es von vornherein und möchte nur das Geld für das Garn. Aber wenn mir verhältnismäßig fremde Menschen Tücher wollen, ist das was anderes. Ich liebe Tücher Stricken, deshalb wärs jetzt nicht so furchtbar, das zu machen. Aber verkaufen? Nicht wirklich.

The second object is Undine, as you can see. It's knitted of Wollmeise Versuchskaninchen. It weighs 160 Grams and 2 Grams were left over which means, Madame Wollmeise was very generous with me. And this is what the shawl has become, quite huge, but not all that huge, but still pleasing in my opinion.

You can hardly see the specks of red, green, brown and yellow, which make the shawl a bit, but not too frisky. I knitted it for a stag pary of a friend. She liked it, thank god! Well, and a lot of others liked it too. Now I have the interesting challenge that they all want shawls like this as well.

That's a sort of academic game, isn't it? I just knit for others if I want to make a special gift for somebody or if I find the design interesting. I don't want to sell my work, since the value of the work is simply unpayable. Therefore I just take the cost of the yarn usually. But it is something else if somebody quite strange to me wants a shawl. I love knitting shawls, so it wouldn't be daunting to do it. But sell it? Not really.
