First of all I have to apologize for this blog being a bit quiet at presen. Summer doesn't seem to be my time of blogging, too much happens elsewhere.
However it't time for an update about what I'm working at. Well, I'm doing, what I seem to be always doing: Knitting sleeves a second time. After the bamboo tunic I had to do it again with a wonderful linen sweater from Karen Noe. It's called Afrodite with different sleeves. I like my second version better. The k2p2 and other column passages will be blocked flat, then it will be a wonderful thing and the hump at the sleeve will disappear. I saw this at my LYS and took the idea from there.

Then I contributed patches to the wm-campaign of Katia (baby blankets) and also sowed a few together at the last knitting café. Well, and I started a blanket for myself, since I've always wanted that kind of patchwork blanket. My patches will be in the left pattern on the picture, they keep their form best. This might be a longer-term project, since I don't want to use special sock yarn for it and also won't buy the yarn specially, but use left-overs.

The third project be a pullunder. It was one of those retropatterns of Drops, the ones in a shape where the shoulders don't seem to fit through the doors. I liked the pattern at the bottom of the sweater, but it won't get sleeves, just a raglan top part. The yarn is a beautifully smooth cashmere silk.

Finally there is the beginning of a Convertible from knitty for one of my nieces. I like this idea of having a thing that can be either a scarf or a stole or a shrug. The yarn of course is a Zauberball, colour is roasted almonds. The picture shows hardly anything, still I liked the colour in the sun.
Else I'm having my car repaired, very, very busy at work and thoroughly planning my holiday on Guernsey, which I'm looking forward to very much. The island is approximately 7 miles long and 5 miles wide, so I might be able to walk completely around it whithin a fortnight.
Well, and I listened to a beautiful and sometimes very sad book: "All my sisters" by Judith Lennox. It took me far, far away again, however in the end it left me quite pensive. The first half of last century seems to be my time of favourite books together with the Middle Ages.
