Omas Tunika: Das ist ein Teil, das ich mal wieder selbst überlege. Was heißt überlegen? Das heißt, ich mache 'ne Maschenprobe, suche mir ein schönes Muster und lege los, berechne den Rest im Lauf der Arbeit. Das Muster ist aus "Omas Strickgeheimnisse" und heißt "Streifenwanzen und Schleier".

Vor lauter Angst, dass das Teil zu eng sitzen könnte, habe ich die linken Maschen der Vorlage als kraus rechts gestrickt, damit sich das Ganze nicht zusammenzieht. Jetzt wirds vermutlich mehr so ein hübsches Trägerkleid, ähem. Bin grade beim Berechnen des oberen Teils, weil der Körper-Teil lang genug ist. Mal sehen, wie es weitergeht :-)

Das Garn ist ein Mikrofasergarn, das einerseits schön glänzt, andererseits absolut weich ist. Ich war erst nicht sicher, ob ich wirklich etwas stricken möchte, das komplett aus Polytierchen ist, aber mir hat das Garn gut gefallen, auch wenns ziemlich rutschig ist.

Grannys Tunic: That is something I'm designing myself. Well, what means "designing"? It is knitting a gauge, picking a beautiful pattern, starting and thinking things through as I go along. The pattern is out of a beautiful German pattern book called "Grandma's knitting secrets". It is called "stripe bugs and veil".

I was so afraid that the thing will be too tight, that I knitted the purling parts in garter stitch, so it won't thighten. Well, now it will probably be some cute pinafore dress. At the moment I'm calculating the upper part, since the body part is high enough. We'll see how it moves along :-)

The yarn is a microfibre something. It is quite brilliant and very smooth. First I was doubtful whether I would like to knit something entirely made of plastic. Still I liked the fibre, however slippery it is.

Lace Pie are Square Shawl (Ravelry-Link) aus Kauni EQ. Den habe ich vorgestern angefangen. Die vorigen Beiträge haben gezeigt, dass im Moment mein berufliches Leben nicht einfach ist. Da dachte ich, so ein knallbuntes Tuch wird mir gut tun. Und die Konstruktion von Elisabeth Zimmermann fand ich sowieso spannend und wollte sie stricken. Da liegen grade die vier Kauni-Knäuel bei mir rum, also losgelegt und im Stricken nicht mehr aufhören können.

Ich habe grade den dritten Mustersatz angefangen und mir gefällt das tierisch gut, auch wenn ich noch nicht genau weiß, ob ich genug Muster für das Garn habe. Noch bin ich am ersten Knäuel und ich möchte, dass das wirklich schön groß wird, ähem. Da werd ich vielleicht wieder Omas Strickgeheimnisse für einen weiteren Mustersatz konsultieren.

Mal gucken, wie das dann nach dem Spannen wird, denn im Moment sieht man auch nur übersichtlich viel von dem Muster. Immerhin ist die Farbe großartig und es macht wirklich viel Spaß zu stricken. Das einzige, was ich noch überlegen muss, ist wie ich den nächsten Knäuel ansetze: umgekehrt, also von außen nach innen, was mit der Farbe besser passen würde, aber den Rapport umdreht, oder ungefähr ähnlich wieder von innen nach außen, was vermutlich einen Bruch geben würde.

Auch auf die Umrandung muss ich noch zweieinhalb Gedanken verwenden, denn mit dem Verlaufsgarn wird das vermutlich merkwürdig aussehen. Aber da finde ich bestimmt noch eine Lösung.

Achso, ich bin grade ungefähr bei der 10. Runde des letzten Teils und habe knapp 500 Maschen auf den Nadeln. Am Ende des "offiziellen" Musters werden es etwa 680 Maschen sein. Das hatte ich noch nie ...

Lace Pie are Square Shawl (Ravelry-Link) out of Kauni EQ. This I started the day before yesterday. My recent posts showed that I'm having quite some trouble in my professional life. So I thought, a brightly coloured shawl will do me good. And I liked the the construction of EZ's Pi are Square Shawl and planned on doing that anyway. There are four Kauni-Balls hanging around here, so I got started and couldn't easily stop.

I just started the third pattern part and I like it very much. Still I don't know whether I have enough pattern for my amount of yarn. And I really want it to be hugte. Maybe I will have to consult Grandma's Knitting Secrets for an additional pattern.

Then we'll see after blocking, how it will look like, because at the moment the pattern is not really visible. But aren't the colours beautiful? It's so much fun to knit. But I will have to give a thought on how to proceed with the next ball. Either outside in, because it would better fit with the colour, but will turn around the colour repeats, or inside out, which will cause quite a break in colours.

Also I will have to thing about the edging, because it would look quite odd with this colour, if I'd change the direction. I'm quite confident however that I will find a solution for that.

Oh, and I'm about at the tenth out of 48 rounds of the last pattern part and have 500 stitches on my needles. In the end of the "official" pattern I will have almost 680 stitches. I never had so many stitches on any needle...
