Endlich mal wieder Stricken | On knitting again finally

So, heute gibt es mal wieder ein bisschen Bilderflut meiner derzeitigen Projekte. Sind nicht alle, das wäre peinlich und das lasse ich bleiben, jawohl.

Well, today there are quite some pictures of my present projects. It's not all of them, that would be embarassing, so nothing doing, definitely.

Mein Hauptprojekt ist St. Brigid, ein Geschenk für ein Familienmitglied. Dieser Pulli lebt schon länger bei mir. Das Garn muss grandios sein, ich habs so häufig wieder aufgezogen und es muckt kein bisschen. Irgendwie habe ich immer wieder komisches Zeug gemacht. Und jetzt ist es einfach eine Frage, das Ding endlich nach Hause zu bekommen. Weihnachten (dieses Jahr!!) solls definitiv soweit sein, bis dahin habe ich noch einen Haufen Arbeit.

My main project is St. Brigid, a present for a family member. This sweater has lived with me quite some time. The yarn has to be great, I frogged so many times an it's still working out fantastically. Somehow I repeated doing silly things. And now it is a question of getting the thing done at last. I'm heading for Christmas (this year!) and it will be a real effort to manage.

Dann hatte ich einen kleinen Auftrag. Eine Kollegin fragte nach einer Mütze und Handstulpen. Hab ich gemacht. Gestern. Das Garn ist Sulka von Mirasol, insofern ist es kein Wunder, dass es so schnell ging. Mütze war Nadelstärke 7mm, Pulswärmer 6mm. Die Pulswärmer haben ein kleines Zopfkreuz, das hatte ich mal als Idee irgendwo gesehen und hier passte es gut. Die Mütze ist was von Drops, ein Riesenvieh (das war der Wunsch), ich sehe damit nicht wirklich gut aus. Das juckt nicht, ist ja nicht für mich. 

Then I had a little commission. A colleague asked for a hat and fingerless mittens. I made them. Yesterday. The yarn is Sulka of Mirasol, so no wonder it was fast knitting. The hat is 7mm, the mittens are 6mm, US size 10. The mittens have a small cable at the wrist. I saw that as an idea somewhere. Here it fits well. The hat is a pattern of drops, a humongous thing (that was her briefing). It doesn't suit me well, but that hardly matters, as I won't be wearing it. 


Als nächstes gibts einen Pulli, der grade in der Dummzeug-Ecke liegt. Wunderschöne Bordüre am unteren Rand, dann einfarbig weitergestrickt. Der einfarbige Teil ist so, dass ich mir eine 3-Zimmer-Wohnung reinbauen kann. Muss ich also nochmals aufziehen, aber im Moment liegt einfach zuviel anderes an. Ich werde diesen Pullover lieben, da bin ich sehr sicher.

The next one is a sweater from the naughty corner. Beautiful bordure at the bottom then continued in blue. This part is so huge I would be able to build myself a flat in it. So I will have to frog, but at present there is too much else to do. I will love this sweater, I'm sure about that.

Ah, und nun kommen wir zu meinem Hobbit-Mäntelchen. Ich habe ja im letzten Jahr eine Mermaid-ähnliche Jacke schonmal gestrickt. Das war mit Alpaka 2-fädig und ist deshalb sehr warm und schwer, außerdem darf das nächste Teil gerne etwas länger sein.

Gesegnet mit einem respektablen Vorrat an Alpaka hab ich ziemlich lange rumgefuhrwerkt, bis ich mit dieser Farbkombination angefangen habe. Und ich finde, die sieht wirklich aus, als gehörte es nach Beutelsend. Auch das werde ich lieben, obwohl ich da auch schon mehrfach wieder aufgezogen habe, weil einfach zuviel selbst mitgedacht.

Oh, now we are at my hobbit jacket. I did something like mermaid last year. That was with two threads of alpaca and so it is very heavy and very warm. And the next one could do with some more length. 

Blessed with a lot of Alpaca in my stash as I am, I did some trying out and planning, until I came up with this colour combination. And doesn't this really belong to Bag End? I will love this also, although I had to rip out some parts of it also, because I'm thinking too much. 



Und heute schließlich hatte ich einen Nähtag. Für ein Projekt brauchen wir ungefähr viele kleine Säckchen (ungefähr 10-15cm), also so um die 80. Heute habe ich 50 davon genäht und zusammen mit den 22 schon Fertigen bin ich fast durch mit der Nummer und stolz wie Bolle. Ist ein bisschen langweilig und die Wohnung sieht immer etwas unordentlich aus mit der Nähmaschine im Weg, aber immerhin, ich hab mich durchgebissen.

Finally today I had my sewing day. For a project I'll need about a lot little bags (about 5.5 to 7 inches), roundabout 80 of those. Today I sewed 50 and together with the 22 already done I'm almost done with this and proud like hell. It's a bit boring and the flat always looks untidy with a sewing machine and other utensils around. But I did it.

So, und jetzt zurück zu St. Brigid. Ziel für heute: den einen Ärmel fertigstellen und den zweiten anschlagen. Aber erstmal muss das Durcheinander vom Nähen weg, sonst ist das kein fein aufgeräumter Strickabend. Bin wieder auf Kurs, richtig?

So, now back to St. Brigid's. My goal for tonight: Finish the first sleeve and begin the second. But first I will have to clear out the mess from sowing, otherwise it won't be a nice and tidy knitting night. I'm back on track, aren't I?
