Na endlich! | Finally!

Nach meiner Rückkunft war ich eine ganze Weile ziemlich blog- und strickfaul (ähm, und auch sonst ziemlich untätig, wenn ich ehrlich bin). Hat sich aber inzwischen erledigt und so kann ich jetzt ein paar fertige und angefangene Sachen zeigen. Gibt also eine kleine Bilderflut heute.

After returning home I was quite lazy knitwise and blogwise for a while (and not very busy in other matters either, to tell the truth). But I've overcome that now and am so able to present a few finished and started items. So this post will be a bit overflowing with pictures.

Vor allem aber schulde ich noch einen Beweis: Den Beweis, dass man im Flugzeug stricken darf. Meine Socke hatte sogar einen eigenen Sitz und ich habe sie dann auch ans Fenster gehalten, damit man sehen kann: Socken, Metallnadeln, Luft passen doch zusammen.

Das wird übrigens meine Aprilsocke. Das Muster heißt "Earl Grey" von The Yarn Harlot. Ich habe es schon bei den Socken für meinen Kollegen verstrickt. Garn ist Regia Stretch aus meinen Vorräten. Stretch wird natürlich fest, ist aber sehr okay. Normalerweise bin ich weniger der Lila-Typ, aber irgendwie haben die mir gefallen. Die Zöpfe wandern allerdings ein bisschen. Das zeige ich noch genauer, wenn die Socken fertig sind.  


First and foremost I owe you a proof: It is the proof that knitting is allowed in planes. My sock even had a seat for itself and I took a picture with it looking out of the window. So you can see: socks, metal needles and air do go together.

This by the way will be my April socks: The pattern is "Earl Grey" by The Yarn Harlot. I had knitted that already for my colleague's socks.  They're knitted out of Regia Stretch from my stash. The stretch makes a tight knit, still it is fun. Usually I'm not all that of a pink type, but I like this somehow. It knits up fine, but strangely enough the little cables are not straight. I'll show more pictures when the socks are done.  






Natürlich musste zuerst mein Geburtstagsgeschenk fertig werden, immerhin ist der Geburtstag schon den einen oder anderen Tag her. Hier also Buttercup Nr. 2.

Of course first of all my birthday present had to be done, after all the birthday is long passed. So this is Buttercup N° 2.

Diesmal als Tragebild, war grade günstige Gelegenheit. Er sitzt ziemlich gut, finde ich. Und die Ärmel haben wirklich und wahrhaftig aufs erste Mal gepasst!! Das Material ist Zitron Savanna, ein feines Baumwoll-/Leinengarn, das allerdings gerne mal Fäden zieht.

This time you can see it worn, was a good opportunity. I like the way it fits. And I didn't have to make several attemts on the sleeves, they instantly were right!! Yarn is Zitron Savanna, a fine cotton-linen-blend, which however tends to draw threads a bit.

Ich habe mit M angefangen (meine Maschenprobe war ein bisschen anders als angegeben) und nach dem Raglan auf XL zugenommen. Jetzt sitzt das oben passend und unten nicht so glockig. Gefällt mir sehr gut.

I started with size M (my gauge was a bit different from the one in the pattern) and after joining for the body increased for XL. So it has no ease around the shoulders and isn't too wide at the body. I like it a lot.

Dann habe ich ein kurzes Paar Sneakersocken gestrickt, nix Spektakuläres, aus Regia Cotton Galaxy. Schneller Strick, einfaches Muster, fertig.

Then I knitted a pair of sneaker socks, nothing spectacular, out of Regia Cotton Galaxy. Quick knit, easy pattern, done. 





Tja, und dann habe ich auf Guernsey doch noch Garn gekauft: Sublime Baby Silk and Bamboo, 10 Knäule. Da ich ja nix kaufen wollte, muss ich das jetzt direkt verstricken, dann ist es kein Garn, sondern ein neuer Pulli. Und irgendwie hat mich der Rappel gepackt, ich möchte ein Top haben und das möglichst schnell. Hab also gestern mit dem Simple Summer Top angefangen und bin zur Hälfte fertig. Mit etwas Eile müsste ich morgen ein neues Top besitzen ... wenn das Garn reicht.

Well, and then I purchased yarn on Guernsey after all. Sublime Baby Silk and Bamboo, 10 balls. Since I didn't want to buy yarn, I will have to knit that up quickly, so it's not yarn, but a pullover instead. And now I'm crazy enough to want that top fast. So I started Simple Summer Top yesterday and are halfway done. With a bit of haste I'll have another top by tomorrow ... if there is enough yarn. 

Das Besondere an dem Top ist der Anschlag: Channel Island cast-on und ich schwöre, das ist im Muster so angegeben und ich habs nicht wegen meiner Affinität zu Guernsey gemacht. Sieht sehr fein aus, finde ich, aber ich habe mir dummerweise einen Riss in den Daumen angeschlagen. Im Unterschied zu den Buttercup-Ärmeln habe ich das Ding ich glaube fünfmal angeschlagen. Bei dieser Art Anschlag steche ich mir blöderweise dauernd in den linken Daumen und der ist jetzt ein bisschen beleidigt. Aber egal, das Teil wird gut, was will ich mehr?

The speciality of this top is the cast-on: It's the Channel Island cast-on and I swear the pattern requires it and not my affinity to Guernsey. It looks fine, but I knitted a tiny split into my thumb. Other than the Buttercup sleeves I had to have about five trys with the cast-on. And with this I'm foolish enough to constantly pierce my left thumb, which is now a bit offended. Doesn't matter, the thing will be fine, so what?
