Square Cardigan: Zum Letzten/The last on SC

Jetzt habe ich am Square Cardigan unten das Bündchen aufgezogen und sehr viel enger gestrickt, aber man sieht praktisch nichts davon, dass es enger geworden ist. Also bleibt er halt so. Ich muss noch die Knopflöcher umnähen, im Moment rutschen die Knöpfe raus, vielleicht gibts noch Taschen, aber keinesfalls eine Kapuze (siehe Erkenntnis 3 vom heutigen Tage).

Ein Foto mit dem Cardigan an mir war wieder mal sehr schwer, weil ich nicht fotografieren kann und weil Blitz im Spiegel furchtbar aussieht. Könnte also sein, dass es ein bisschen pixelig ist. Naja, da müssen wir wohl durch, gell.

Das ist übrigens etwas, das ich nicht ganz perfekt finde und das mir dennoch hinreichend gut gefällt. Ich könnte noch viel dran machen, aber ich kann ihn auch einfach anziehen.

Now I redid the lower ribbing a lot smaller, but this did almost nothing to the wideness. So now I'll leave it at that. I'll have to sow around the button-holes, they are to big for the buttons. Maybe I'll knit pockets, but by all means no hood (see finding N° 3 of today).

The picture of me wearing the cardigan was again hard, because I'm not a good fotografer and flash in mirror looks horrible. So it is a bit blurred. Well, we all will have to livewith it.

This cardigan I think is not altogether perfekt but I still like it very much. I could still do a lot to it - or simply wear it like it is.

Square Cardigan: Fertig! / Finished!

Sonntag ist er fertig geworden, heute hab ich Fotos gemacht und da isser, der fertige Square Cardigan. Auf dem Foto rechts steht er hochkant, da kann man nicht so richtig sehen, was ich in dem Post weiter unten gemeint habe. Deshalb habe ich ihn nochmals liegend fotografiert, da sind dann aber die Farben nicht so originalgetreu. Sorry für die Bildqualität, es ist abends (ich komme derzeit nicht bei Tageslicht heim), da sind die Bilder verwischt und das untere musste ich kräftig nachdunkeln, weil Blitz und Licht zuviel waren für den Foto und Blitz und kein Licht zu wenig. Ich mache hier noch meinen Freischwimmer, ich kann zwar stricken, aber nicht wirklich gut fotografieren *grmpf

Zur Erinnerung, Farbe und Partie ist bei allen Knäueln identisch (ich hab die Banderolen noch, da steht es drauf :-)

Insgesamt gefällt er mir gut, er ist halt sehr voluminös in kraus rechts. Erst hatte ich versucht, das Ganze in Netzpatent zu stricken, aber zum einen hätte ich dann ungefähr zwei Kilo Mantel gekriegt, zum anderen sind die Teile schief geworden. Nicht, weil das mit den Maschen entstanden wäre, sondern weil die Randmaschen sehr unterschiedlich wurden. Ich habe ungefähr vier verschiedene Ränder probiert, es wurde immer schief. Also habe ich mir versprochen, dass ich damit mal einen Pullover bastle, der in weiten Strecken rund ist, dann fällt das nicht so ins Gewicht.

An dem Ding gibt es nur eine einzige linke Masche und die ist mir an einem Ärmel "passiert". Nächstes Mal würde ich diese Wolle mit glatt rechts verstricken, weil sich die Jacke nur als Oberjacke für draußen eignet oder drin an wirklich kalten Tagen. Da wir hier daheim wenig wirklich kalte Tage haben, ist das ein bissel schade. Gleichzeitig gefällt mir sehr (so komisch das klingt), dass er so merkwürdig mustert. Vielleicht mache ich unten das Bündchen nochmals auf und stricke es enger, ich finde es wirklich sehr weit. Hingegen sehr gefällt mir die doppelte Knopfreihe, das macht das Teil zwar noch voluminöser, aber das ist irgendwie okay. Ich habe um die Teile nix gehäkelt, da sieht man oben an der Knopfleiste ganz einfach sehr konventionelle Randmaschen. Ich hab noch 150g von der Wolle übrig, vielleicht bin ich ganz konsequent und stricke noch eine Kapuze (zum Abknöpfen oder so). Aber dazu brauche ich etwas mehr Erfahrung damit, ich will den Cardigan nicht versauen.

Nunja, was stricke ich denn jetzt,während ich Blogs lese? Nujut, ich habe einen Pullunder angeschlagen. Beschreibung gibts später, weil das Ding dunkelblau ist, kann ich das noch schwerer fotografieren als das hier.

Finished on Sunday, here it is, the completed Square Cardigan. On the right photo you can't see, what I described in my first post..That's why i took another picture lying, with somewhat strangely changed colours. Please excuse the low quality of the pictures, it is evening (I'm coming home late nowadays), so the pictures are rather out of focus and the lower I had to rework on the computer, because flash and light were too much and flash and no light were too little for my camera. I'm still learning, I'm able to knit much more than I'm able to take photos.

I promise, colour and dying lot are identical in all the skeins (I still kept the banderoles as evidence).

Altogether I like it still being very voluminous in garter stitch. I tried first another pattern, (I was looking in vain for the English term for it, sorry), but this didn't work out. Besides I would probably have needed 2kg of yarn. I will sometimes knit a jumper with that technique.

This cardigan has just a single purl stitch, a mistake on one of the sleeves. Next time I would knit this whool in stocking stich, because this cardigan suites well in freezing times. Unfortunately Frankfurt has quite rarely freezing times. At the same time strangely enough I lik this strange pattern of the whool, it makes it unique. Maybe I'll knit the lower ribbing again, because it seems too wide. On the other side I like the double button-hole part, it makes the cardigan even bigger, but that is fine by me. I just left the parts as they were, no crocheting around. There are still 150g of yarn, so I might knit a hood, which can be buttoned. But I need more experience with hoods, I don't want to spoil the cardigan.

Well, now I need something new to knit while reading knitting blogs. I cast on a vest today. A description will follow later, it's going to be dark blue, which gives me an even bigger challenge to take acceptable pictures.

Square Cardigan: Umbenennen / Re-name it

Das Ding sollte ich wirklich in "Blog Cardigan" umbenennen. Ich hab heute abend wieder praktisch nur Strickblogs gelesen und an Square Cardigan weitergestrickt. Das zweite Vorderteil ist fast fertig, bleibt noch Ausarbeiten (Bündchen untendran, Bündchen an Ärmel, Kragen, Knöpfe, Fäden vernähen) und fertig. Wochenende sollte es dann soweit sein, wobei das Wochenende eigentlich Inishmore vorbehalten ist. Immerhin ist er mein "Hauptprojekt", weil er a. aufwändiger ist und b. ich sicherer bin, dass er auch wirklich passen wird.

SC ist mehr so was für mindless zwischendurch und ich werde garantiert in eine tiefe Krise stürzen, wenn SC fertig ist, weil ich dann nix mehr mindless für zum Lesen habe. Sweet Jacket eignet sich wie erwähnt dafür nicht so gut, da wird mir echt nichts anderes übrig bleiben, als etwas Neues anzufangen. Ist aber mehr so mittelschlimm, weil ich für eine Freundin ein Mitbringsel stricken will und außerdem ein Besuch bei Schöppel ansteht (ich will mal gucken, wie beherrscht ich einem Fabrikverkauf voll Wolle gegenüberstehe, ähem). Da sollte sich doch etwas machen lassen, gelle...

Achso, Bilder gibts dann, wenn ich mal bei Tageslicht daheim bin und vernünftig fotografieren kann.

This thing should really be re-named "Blog Cardigan". I spent this evening again knitting SC while reading knitting blogs. The second front is nearly finished. Thus remains the second sleeve and finishings (ribbing front and back, ribbing sleeves, collar, buttons, weaving) and done with it. I guess it might happen at the weekend. However, weekend is reserved for Inishmore, since this is my "main project": a. it is more complex and b. I'm more certain that it will fit.

SC is a more mindless project for intervals of Inishmore and I will fall into a deep crisis, as soon as it will be finished, because I won't have anything to knit while reading. Never mind, I'm planning a small present for the visit of a friend and a visit at Schoeppel Wolle (I would like to know, how much I can resist a store full of whool), so I will be able to cope with the time after SC.

I will provide pictures as soon as I will be at home during day time, so I will be able to really show something.

Square Cardigan: Musterei / Patternses

Der Square Cardigan ist ein Teil, das ich einfach mal losgestrickt habe. Die Wolle ist schön (Malina von Schachenmayr), das Muster ist schön mindless und klar (kraus rechts) und der Schnitt gefällt mir auch gut (doppelreihige Knopfleiste und ansonsten mehr so rechteckig mit ein paar Blenden an Ärmeln und unten am Körper). Aber die Wolle hat eine interessante Eigenschaft: Ich schwöre es, das gesamte Kilo und 250 Gramm sind aus einer Farbe und einer Partie, aber einige Knäuel mustern und die anderen zeigen nur zufällige Streifenbildung. Das sieht witzig aus, finde ich. Sobald es mal wieder heller wird, gibts dazu Bilder, dann kann ich auch selbst sehen, ob mir das gefällt.

Eigentlich müsse die Jacke "Blogjacke" heißen, weil ich immer daran stricke, während ich in Strickblogs lese. Deshalb hat sie sehr schnell sehr große Fortschritte gemacht, allerdings finde ich jetzt grade Inishmore interessanter und würde ihn gerne fertigstellen. Außerdem brauche ich ja sonst wieder ein mindless project, während dessen ich lesen kann. Sweet Jacket ist nicht ganz so mindless, weil ich da auf der Rückseite verschränkte Linksmaschen stricken muss und das doch ein bisschen hingucken erfordert. Naja, ich hab ja noch drei Kilo Schurwollentweed aus England, da sollte sich was machen lassen. Wobei ich da erst drangehe, wenn ich wirklich eins meiner drei WIPs fertig habe.

Square Cardigan is something I just somehow started. I like the whool (Malina by Schachenmayr), garter stitch is mindless and well textured and I like the pattern (double button-hole part and else somewhat square with ribs at the bottom of the body and the sleeves).

This whool has a very interesting characteristic: I swear, the entire Kilo and about 250 grams have the same colour and dying lot. But some of the skeins give a clear pattern, others just show stripes in different colours. It looks a bit weird. As soon as I will get home at daylight I will take pictures. So I will be able to see, whether I like that.

Actually this Cardigan should be called "Blog-Cardigan", because I have been reading knitting blogs while knitting it. Therefore I made quick and easy progress. Still Inishmore is much more interesting at the moment and I would like to finish this soon. Also I would have to look for another mindless project for reading times. Sweet jacket is not all that mindless, because the pattern includes purls in the back of the stitches, where I have to be somewhat attentive. Well, I have three kilos of whool tweed from Ireland, so there should be something to go on with. However, I promise I get started only when having finished one of my WIPs.
