Mal wieder Sonntag | Sunday again

Und wieder ist Sonntag und wir schauen uns an, was ich so auf den Nadeln habe. Diesmal habe ich vier Sachen ausgesucht, eins ist fertig, drei sind in Arbeit.

Mein Tagesziel habe ich erreicht, was Stricken betrifft, leider noch nicht, was meine Arbeit betrifft, da habe ich noch zwei Stündlein zu tun. Im Moment brennt die Luft ein bisschen, ich habe schon lange nicht mehr Wochenends beide Tage gearbeitet. Aber was muss, das muss. Gottseidank habe ich mein Gestrick, damit kann ich mich nämlich fein motivieren (mach die nächste Tranche und es gibt drei Reihen Strickpause). Stellt Euch vor, ich würde nähen oder klöppeln oder malen. Was würde da immer für Vorbereitung draufgehen! So kann ich den Computer Computer sein lassen und einfach mein Gestrick in die Finger nehmen. Ist entspannend, aber auch sehr verlockend.

It's Sunday again and we look at what I'm working at. This time I picked four things, one is done, three are in progress.

I reached my objective of the day - concerning knitting, anyway. Unfortunately there are two more hours to go workwise. At present work is really time-consuming, it's been quite a long time I did some work both Saturday and Sunday. Still, needs must. Fortunately I'm knitting, so I can give myself an extra motivation (do the next bit and there will be three rows knitting break). Imagine me sowing or bobbing or even painting. What time would be wasted preparing for the break. This way I just leave my computer in peace and take up knitting. It's relaxing and at the same time tempting.

So, zurück zum Thema: Meine Arbeiten.

Die Fischersocken sind fertig. Das Garn ist wunderbar weich, ich finde, man sieht das auch. Leider ist die Struktur des Musters auf den Bildern nicht so gut zu erkennen, ich finde sie wunderschön (hab ja schon ein besseres Bild gezeigt). Jetzt werde ich allerdings nach mehreren unfreiwillig gefilzten Alpaka-Stücken eine kleine Maschenprobe waschen, damit ich meiner Nichte ein bisschen Pflegeanleitung mitgeben kann.

Well, back to the topic: my work in progress.

The Fishermen's Socks are done. The yarn is beautifully smooth, I think this is visible. Unfortunately the pattern-structure isn't that well visible, I love it (you could see it in the first post showing them). After having shrunken some objects of alpaca-sockyarn I will wash a little swatch in order to be able to give my niece some care instructions.

Ebenfalls fertig ist der erste Eve-Handschuh (das war mein Tagesziel heute). Ich finde den ja wunderschön. Okay, die Farbe frisst das Muster etwas, aber wenn sie das Ding anhat, kann sie die Textur erkennen. Gestrickt aus Wollmeise und jetzt muss noch der zweite her. Das Ding ist richtig, richtig Arbeit.

Also done is the first of the Eve-gloves (this was my objective of today). I love it. Well, the colour eats up some of the pattern, however, if she wears the thing she will see the texture. Knitted with Wollmeise and there will have to be done a second one. This is quite laborious stuff.

Das Tuch für mein Patenkind habe ich ebenfalls angefangen.
Es ist aus Zitron Unisono und das Muster ist Moonlight Sonata. Sehr ungewöhnlich in der Konstruktion, mir gefällt es sehr und das Stricken ist sehr machbar und hinreichend interessant.

I've also started the shawl for my godchild. It's knitted with Zitron Unisono and the pattern is Moolight Sonata. Very unusual construction, I like it a lot. Knitting is doable and quite interesting.

Und schließlich das Adult Surprise Jacket. Sie ist soweit fertig, ich muss nur noch die Ärmel verlängern. Als ich die Umrandung vorne gestrickt habe, bin ich fast blind geworden vor lauter Orange, aber irgendwie hat sich die Farbe genau passend zu dem petrol-farbenen I-Cord entwickelt. Ich hoffe, ich kriege das auch einigermaßen so hin an den Ärmeln (okay, vielleicht nicht mit gar so viel orange).

Hier habe ich eindeutig ein Problem mit den Knöpfen. Ich habe schon so ziemlich alles überhaupt Denkbare drauf liegen gehabt, Knöpfe, Schließen, Knebel, alles. Nichts hat wirklich gut ausgesehen. Ich hatte sogar schon Olivenholz-Knöpfe dafür gekauft, aber die sind zu unruhig für das Muster. Gottseidank habe ich keine Eile, so kann ich da noch ein bisschen dran rumbrüten.

And finally the Adult Surprise Jacket. Its done, I will just have to lengthen the sleeves. When I knitted the front and neck edging, I nearly went blind with all the orange. Still the colour developed nicely from orange to the teal I'm using for the I-Cord-bind-off. I hope this will work out equally fine with the sleeves (okay, may be not all that orange again).

Here I struggle a bit with appropriate buttons. I tried out almost everything at all imaginable, buttons in all varieties, clasps, toggles, you name it, I tried. Nothing really worked out. I even bought buttons out of olive wood, this is too lively for the pattern. Fortunately there's no hurry, so I will be able to brood over this for some time.

Ein kurzes Wort zu der Meg Swansen Jacke: Die Empfängerin hat sie anprobiert und sie ist doch zu weit an der Schulter bzw. die hatte so komische Huckel an ihr. Deshalb werde ich die Schulter nochmals umnähen, evtl. sogar mit der Nähmaschine. Die Fäden im Ärmel sind immerhin alle vernäht und ich hoffe, nächste Woche kann ich das Siegesbild mit Trägerin machen.

A short note on the Meg Swansen Cardigan: The receiver tried it on an it is to wide at the shoulder, or better the shoulder looked some strange kind of bumpy. Therefore I will have to re-sow it, maybe even with the sowing machine. At least the ends within the sleeves are darned in, so I hope I will be able to finish this one also and get a victory picture with the new owner in it.
