Sortieren / Get organized

Hab grade "Kassensturz" gemacht und mich sortiert. Lüber Hümmel, irgendwie hab ich wieder mal zuviel in Arbeit. Immerhin habe ich ein paar alte Sachen aufgezogen, so dass ich jetzt wieder einigermaßen einen Überblick und Ordnung im System habe. Mein Anfall von Starteritis hat sich wieder insoweit relativiert, als ich jetzt ein paar Sachen wieder aufgezogen und in die Pläne geschoben habe. So arbeite ich jetzt wieder nach und nach alles weg, was da so rumschwimmelt.

Ich habe in Arbeit:

• einen Pullover mit schrägem Muster aus einer Sandra von 1985; da habe ich vorgestern die Wolle beim Wolknäuel gekauft und in einem Suchtanfall schonmal die ersten 30cm gestrickt. Garn ist Zitron Savanna, ein Baumwoll-Leinen-Gemisch, das Zeug strickt sich wie in Trance.
• immer noch den Pullunder aus dem Kaschmir-Seiden-Gemisch von der HWF, übrigens auch ein Muster aus den 80er Jahren.
• eine Jacke bzw Pullover aus Lana Grossa Balino, was ein Geburtstagsgeschenk war. Wird vermutlich eher ein Pulli mit ein bisschen Taillierung, das habe ich noch nie gemacht und ich denke, von oben ist das einfacher als von unten.
• die Meg-Swansen-Jacke für meine Kollegin aus Shetland 2ply habe ich jetzt wieder angefangen und ein gutes Stück gestrickt. Ist ja kühler, da geht das.
• Henry, ein Schal aus einem ziemlich edlen Kaschmirgarn für meinen Bruder. Soll ein Schal werden, dem man nicht ansieht, dass er gestrickt ist. Fand ich eine interessante Idee und hab dann schonmal angefangen, ähem. Ist ziemlich anstrengend, weil er quer gestrickt wird, aber mir gefällt, was daraus wird.
• Convertible aus Zauberball Gebrannte Mandeln. Ist halb fertig, aber grade ist mir wieder mehr nach Pulli stricken, außerdem ist das Muster mehr so langweilig mit der Zeit. Das eignet sich fürs Zug fahren, aber ich fahre grade nicht so viel Zug.

Die UFOs zähle ich jetzt nicht auf, die hab ich ja in der rechten Spalte stehen. Zu den derzeitigen Projekten gibts dann in einem zweiten Post Fotos, sobald die Bude hier wieder so aussieht, dass ich Fotos machen kann. Wolle verklauben ist immer ziemlich schädlich für die Ordnung in der Bude.

Und als wäre das alles nicht genug, haben wir gestern im Strickcafé überlegt, mit dem Weben anzufangen. Ich hatte das schon öfter erwogen, aber wegen des Platzbedarfes für einen Webrahmen verworfen. Nun gibt es aber einen, der sich gut verwahren lässt und auch direkt mit Tasche geliefert wird. Tja, und den werd ich bekommen und dann mal fein weben lernen. Da freue ich mich drauf.

I just caught up sorting myself again in terms of knitting projects. Good heavens above, I seem to have too much in progress. After all I frogged some old projects, so now I'm back at knowing what there is and where to find it. My latest starting frenzy is somewhat soothed by having frogged also some of this new stuff and started a new "planning" column in my knitting diary. So I'm able to trudge along through my knitting projects.

Currently I'm working at:

• a sweater with diagonal pattern from a German knitting journal of 1985. I bought the yarn yesterday and in a fit of frenzy knitted the first 30cm. Yarn is Zitron savanna, a cotton-linen-blend; the stuff knits up easily.
• the vest out of cashmere-silk blend, also a pattern from the eighties by the way.
• a pullover or cardigan out of Lana Grossa Balino. The yarn was a birthday gift. I think it will rather be a sweater with a shaped waist. I haven't done this before and I think it's easier when knitting from the top.
• the Meg Swansen Cardigan for a colleague out of Shetland 2-ply. It now being a bit cooler I went back to knitting this.
• Henry, a scarf for my brother made of a very fine cashmere yarn. It doesn't look like having been knitted and I like that. It's quite exhausting because it is knitted at the long side, but I like it anyway.
• Convertible out of Zauberball Gebrannte Mandeln. It's halfway done, however I like better knitting sweaters at present. And the pattern get's a bit dreary. This is well for times in trains, but I'm not travelling an awful lot at the moment.

I won't list the unfinished objects, they are in the right column. In my next post there will be pictures of the work in progress as soon as my living room is fit for display again. Sorting out yarn doesn't do the tidyness of a room any good.

And if all this wasn't enough, yesterday in knitting café we decided to start weaving. I've thought about that for quite some time now, but decided against it due to the required space for a loom. Now I found out that there's one, which not only can be transported well but also goes with a bag to be stored away. Well, and this one will be mine and I will have to learn to weave. I'm looking forward to it.
